residentialSTRUCTURAL / CONDITIONAL SURVEYS FOR PROVINCIAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (PDAP), SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA
(Initially undertaken as a Senior Engineer while working with Allnorth Consultants with subsequent peer reviews completed with D.J Fitzpatrick)

Allnorth were approved as Structural Engineers (Buildings) for the Ministry of Government Relations (PDAP) to carry out conditional surveys of various structures in Saskatchewan, that suffered structural damage resulting from natural disasters.

The scope involved on-site inspections, investigations and analysis to assess the damage. We would typically determine based on a percentage the extent of eligible damage or how much damage was pre-existing or substandard and finally provide recommendations and solutions to assist in recovery in the form of a technical report.

The project consisted of the construction of a 42m2 (450ft2) extension to provide additional living space with a feature fireplace.  Due to the shape of the site it was important to select the correct proportions for the extension while also maintaining access on both sides of the dwelling. This extension required the creation of a large opening to the existing rear wall to form an open plan concept with the existing dwelling rooms.

Our involvement included site survey, architectural & structural design and submission of planning application.

residentialEXTENSION TO PRIVATE DWELLING, ARKLOW, WICKLOW, IRELAND
The project consisted of the construction of a 37m2 (400ft2) extension to provide an additional bedroom and additional space. Due to the constraints of the site, a previous extension and the existing room layout, it was only possible to extend to one side of the dwelling. This required the removal of large proportions of the external structural walls which in turn had to be supported by transfer beams.

Our involvement included site survey, architectural & structural design and submission of planning application.
