RE-CLADDING DESIGN OF AN EXISTING BUILDING STRUCTURE, DUBLIN, IRELAND
This project involved the concept design of a new energy efficient cladding system for an existing single glazed building. The initial steps in this project were to analyse the performance of the existing building in terms of its heating and cooling loads. Using modern software, we were able to model the existing building and determine thermal / wind loading along lighting levels on the floor plate and also a shadow analysis.
From the results of our analysis we designed three possible options that were compliant with Part L of the Building Regulations, taking into account constructability issues and cost. Our final design proposal was selected and rendered images were produced for presentation to the client. This project has not been tendered for construction.
